Booting the Aspera Transfer Cluster Manager Image

  1. Log into the IBM Cloud portal.
  2. Go to Devices > Manage > Images.
  3. Click the Filter tab. Enter your Image ID in the Template Name field. Click Filter.
  4. Click the Actions drop-down menu and select Order Monthly Virtual Server.
  5. Configure the instance.
    These are the minimum requirements:

    Data Center Select a data center of your choice.
    Note: The first user to provision this image on a data center should expect a wait time between 5-20 minutes while SoftLayer copies the image to the selected data center.
    Computer Instance 1 x 2.0 GHz Cores
    RAM 4 GB
    Note: Database images running for years with multiple clusters results in a large amount of transfer data. Aspera will provide sizing info in the future.
    Public Bandwidth Default
    Uplink Port Speeds 100 Mbps
  6. Click Add to Order.
  7. Upload public keys to the server.
  8. Add a valid hostname and domain for your server.
  9. Click Finalize Your Order.
Go to Devices > Device List to select your device and monitor its status. Once your device is running, click the Passwords tab to find your SSH login info.
