Configure IBM Aspera Faspex to allow external senders, those who do not have Faspex accounts, to send packages to Faspex users.
Steps 1 and 2 describe how to configure your Faspex Server to allow inviting external senders. If you have already configured Faspex Server, skip Steps 1 and 2.
-
Navigate to the "Outside email addresses" section from .
-
Select the checkbox labeled "Allow inviting external senders:" and set the Default to "Allow".
When set to Allow, all Faspex users
will be able to invite external senders by default. An Administrator can
enable or disable this feature for specific users from the page, while still retaining the server-wide setting of allowed or
denied.
The following steps describe how to
invite an external sender to send your account a package.
-
Navigate to the Faspex Received menu and select the Invitations link
at the top of the page.
On the
Invitations screen, you will see any invitations that you have already sent, as
well as a link to
Invite Outside Email.

-
Click on the New link to send an invitation.
-
Enter the outside sender's email address and choose a submission link rule.

The submission link rules include the following:
- Delete the submission link after one successful upload
- Delete the submission link on a specific date (which you will need to input)
- Never delete the submission link as long as the inviter (you) exists or until the sender
is removed from the invitation list.
The user will then receive an email from Faspex, along with a submission link, so that
he or she can send you a package (i.e. perform an upload). You can view all your invitations
by going back to .
Here, you can perform the following operations:
- You can resend the submission link.
- You can delete the invitation (which removes the sender from this list and prevents them
from using the submission link).
- You can see the URL (submission link) that has been sent to the user.
