Requirements

This guide assumes that the version of Orchestrator being installed is the latest version. Please contact IBM Aspera Support for legacy install instructions.

For both a production-grade system and a single-server installation, Orchestrator requires a physical server or a virtual machine with the following minimum capacity:

8 CPUs (each with one or more cores).
16GB of RAM.
100GB of free disk space.

For a development/test system, 2–4 core CPUs and 4GB RAM is sufficient.

Aspera recommends that Orchestrator be installed on its own server.

The following software package is required: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable package v9.0 64-bit.

Aspera advises against combining management systems (for example, IBM Aspera Console or Orchestrator) with transfer servers and web application servers (for example, IBM Aspera Connect Server or IBM Aspera Faspex).

Note: This guide assumes that all commands are being run as Administrator.
