Using Aspera for SharePoint |
Before you use Aspera for SharePoint, take some time to understand how the application works with your SharePoint installation.
When you upload a document to SharePoint, SharePoint stores it in its content repository. When a member of your workgroup needs to use that content, they access the same repository.
With Aspera for SharePoint, however, the Aspera application inserts a link to the content (rather than the full file itself) into the SharePoint repository, and manages the traffic to the content. The result is that you can move larger files, faster.
When you have uploaded a file using Aspera for SharePoint, the file's icon shows this distinction with the addition of a blue arrow.
