Installing Orchestrator

Before you begin the installation, make sure you have access to your organization's login credentials for the Aspera website (user name and password) and the license file for Orchestrator, both of which are obtained from your Aspera account manager.

Note: All installation log information can be found in the directory /opt/aspera/orchestrator, in a file with a name similar to the following: install_3657_20170620104842.log (the number in the filename will change for each successive installation).

I. Download the Installer

Go to the Aspera website:

http://downloads.asperasoft.com/en/downloads/27

Using your login credentials, download the Orchestrator installer, vversion - Windows.
After download, the installer appears with the following format:

AsperaOrchestratorSetup-version-x86.exe
```
Save the installer to the machine where you are installing Orchestrator.

II. Run the Installer

Double-click the .exe file in your Downloads folder to launch the installation.
In the welcome screen for the setup wizard, click Next.
Accept the End-User Licensing Agreement by selecting I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.
In the MySQL Setup window, enter the MySQL root account password. Also provide the name and password for the MySQL account to run Orchestrator. Click Next.
In the Aspera Service Account dialog, enter the following information, then click Next.
- User name (default is svcAspera). Because the service account is used to run the services for all Aspera products, including upgrades, the default user name is recommended.
- Password. If you enter a service account name used for a previous Aspera product installation, you need to enter the password associated with that service account.
In the Choose Setup Type dialog, click one of the following:
- Typical: Uses the default port settings.
- Custom: Allows the administrator to edit the port settings. Edit the ports as needed and click Next.
Click Install.
The Setup Wizard initiates the installation process. Wait for the installation files to complete.
Click Finish to complete the process.
Go to the Services panel.
Make sure that Apache HTTPD Server (Aspera), Aspera Orchestrator, and MySQL Server (Aspera) services are running. Restart the services if required.

III. Complete the Installation in the Orchestrator UI

Open the Orchestrator user interface.
In a web browser, go to the following URL, where orchestrator_ip_address is the IP address or fully qualified name of the machine on which Orchestrator is installed.

Note: Depending on your current certificates, you may get a security warning popup. If so, click Advanced and add a security exception for the Orchestrator website.
In the Login field, enter admin; leave the Password field blank.
Create a password for the admin user.
In the Change Password dialog, leave the Current password field blank and enter your new password, then enter it again in the Confirm password field.
Apply the license file.
1. In the Update License dialog (Engine > Update License), click Browse to import your license file, or paste the contents of your license file into the text box.
2. Click Update and validate license.
  
  The message New license applied and validated successfully appears.
  
  Note: The Orchestrator UI displays the currently installed version and license expiration date in the footer of every page.
Confirm that all processes are running.

Click Engine > Processes and review the Status column to confirm that all processes are running. For any process with a Stopped status, click Start to resume.
