Important: Orchestrator must be installed as Administrator or any other
privileged user to facilitate service creation, gem compilation, and necessary
folder creation during the installation process.
(Preliminary Step) Contact your Sales representative to obtain
the Orchestrator license file.
The license filename will be in the following format:
orchestrator-license_number.aspera-license
Download the product installer.
Go to http://downloads.asperasoft.com/en/downloads/27, click
Windows, and select the Orchestrator
installer.
Click Direct download and enter the user name
and password supplied by Aspera. If you have trouble locating your login
credentials, contact Support.
Click Save File > OK.
Double-click the .exe file in your Downloads folder to
launch the installation.
Click Next.
The welcome screen for the setup wizard appears. Click
Next.
Accept the End_User Licensing Agreement by selecting I accept both
the IBM and non-IBM terms, then click
Next.
In the MySQL Setup window, enter the MySQL root account password. Also provide
the name and password for the MySQL account to run Orchestrator. Click
Next.
In the Aspera Service Account dialog, enter the user name (default is
svcAspera) and password, then click
Next.
Note: Because the service account is used to run the services for all Aspera
products, including upgrades, the default user name is recommended.
Choose the installation setup type; IBM Aspera recommends that you click
Typical.
In the Ready to Install dialog (where the ports are specified), click
Install.
Wait for the installation files to complete. When the completion screen
appears, click Finish to complete the installation.
Click the Start menu and open the Run dialog. Enter
services.msc, then click
OK.
Make sure that Apache HTTPD Server (Aspera), Aspera Orchestrator, and MySQL
Server (Aspera) services are running. Restart the services if required.
Open the Aspera Orchestrator user interface.
In a web browser, go to the following
URL:
https://localhost/aspera/orchestrator/
At the login screen, enter admin (leave the password field blank) and
click Log in.
In the Update License dialog, either click Choose File
to browse and upload the license file, or copy and paste the license key in the
Provide License Contents text box. Click Update and validate
license to install.
At this point, you can navigate to any view in the UI.
Confirm that all processes are running.
Click Engine > Processes and
review the Status column to confirm that all processes are running. For any
process with a Stopped status, click Start to
resume.
