Managing Nodes in a Project

Note: You must be a system admin, an organization admin, or a project admin to perform these operations.
You can manage nodes in a project from the Nodes tab in a project's Settings page. Nodes are divided into three filters:
Filter Description
All All nodes of the organization, including:
  • Nodes that are available to this project
  • Source nodes of shares in the project
Through Shares Source nodes of shares in the project

Make a Node Available to a Project

An available node is a node that a project admin can use to create shares from in the project. If you are a project admin with "see all" privileges enabled for nodes, you can make nodes outside of the organization available to this project. If you do not have "see all" privileges, you are not able to add nodes to the project.
  1. Click the Available Nodes link and click click Add.
  2. Select a node from the list of node. You are redirected to the node's authorizations page.
  3. In the Available paths table, click Add and select the root path.
The root path is the available path configured at the organization level. To further restrict the path, browse the node for a sub-directory to use as the available path. Restricting the path protects against unauthorized access to the node by limiting user access to a defined area of the file directory structure.
  4. Click Create.
The subdirectories of the node under the available path are now available to the project. To remove this node from the available nodes list, select the paths pertaining to that node and Remove them.

Viewing a Node's Project Authorizations

To see user account's authorizations, select a user from any filtered list.
The node authorizations page shows the node name and the node hostname. The page also shows the node's share authorizations in the Share Authorizations table, which displays each share and the directory on the node the share is using as its source directory.

Click on a share to go to the share.
