Creating a New Share Using the New Share Button

Note: You must be a system admin, an organization admin, or a project admin to perform these operations.

When browsing a share, you can use the New Share button to create a new share from a folder in the current share.

To create a new share, you must have one of the following authorizations:
  • A system admin
  • An organization admin of the organization containing the current share
  • A project admin of the project containing the current share
If you are not any of those user roles, you do not have access to the New Share button.

Create a New Share from the Current Folder

  1. Click New Share without selecting any folders.
    Shares redirects you to the New Share page. The Root path and Directory fields are automatically populated with the path to the directory you selected.
  2. Name the share.
  3. Click Create.

Create a New Share from a Folder

  1. Choose the folder from which you want to create a new share.
    In some cases, you may want to create an empty folder in the current share and make that a new share. To create a new share from a new folder, click New Folder. Name the new folder and click Create. Otherwise, select an existing folder.
  2. Click New Share.
    Shares redirects you to the New Share page. The Root path and Directory fields are automatically populated with the path to the directory you selected.
  3. Name the share.
  4. Click Create.
