Creating a New Share Using the New Share Icon

Note: You must be a system admin, an organization admin, or a project admin to perform these operations.

When browsing a share, you can use the New Share icon () to create a new share from a directory

To create a new share, you must have one of the following authorizations:
  • A system admin
  • An organization admin of the organization containing the current share
  • A project admin of the project containing the current share
If you are not any of those user roles, you do not have access to the New Share button.
  1. Click the icon for the directory from which you want to create a new share. You can find that icon next to the Last Modified timestamp on the right.
    Shares redirects you to the New Share page. The Root path and Directory fields are automatically populated with the path to the directory you selected.
  2. Name the share.
  3. Click Create.
