Server Set up Methods

Users, groups, and transfers can be configured in several ways, all of which modify the XML file aspera.conf.

• In the GUI

  Click Configuration to open the Configuration Manager. For descriptions of the configuration settings available in the GUI, see Docroot and File Permission Configuration, Authorization Configuration, Bandwidth Configuration, Network Configuration, and File Handling Configuration.

• Manually editing aspera.conf

  Open aspera.conf in a text editor with write permission and add or edit the text in XML format. For templates of aspera.conf parameter settings, see aspera.conf - Authorization Configuration, aspera.conf - Transfer Configuration, and aspera.conf - File System Configuration. Find aspera.conf in the following location:

  /opt/aspera/etc/aspera.conf

• Running asconfigurator commands

  Run asconfigurator commands from a Terminal window to automatically insert parameter settings as well-formed XML into aspera.conf.
